Halo 3 Can Be Deadly in Real Life?
Remind me never to take away my son’s Xbox 360 — at least unless the guns are locked up.

Daniel Petric, 17, shot both his mother and father in October 2007 with a handgun after what was potentially “weeks” of planning, according to the Associated Press. His father survived, but his mother died of a wound to the head. Petric’s defense attorneys had argued that he was not guilty by reason of insanity, claiming that he was dangerously addicted to Halo 3. Petric was tried as an adult in the Lorain County Court of Common Pleas.

Wow… Another game (music, TV show, movie, etc) used as defense (excuse) for murder… It boggles the mind that we will excuse away other, more “viable reasons” that we murder another human being… like war, for instance.
BTW — love your blog, from my quick look at it. Too bad you don’t allow comments (as far as I could see) since I’d love to.
The idea, however, that war can’t have viable reasons, and somehow equating defending yourself with using the Twinky defense (or the Halo 3 defense, as it were) is pretty silly.
Hi
Great info, i like it thank you very much for sharing it..
It is not the fault of the child. It is purely because of his parents. Even if you have given your son a video game you should have mention him about a schedule of playing that. He made an habit and now when her mother took that away.He in anger murdered them.
