Gorbachev: Unclear on the concept, yet again

Apparently, Mikhail Gorbachev is not clear on the concept of how walls work, or the purposes for which they are erected:

“You remember President Reagan standing in Berlin and saying, ‘This wall should be torn down,’” said the 1990 Nobel Peace Prize winner. “Now the United States seems to be building almost the Wall of China between itself and this other nation with which it has been associated for many decades and has had cooperation and interaction with.”

Well, Mickey, the big difference, as you may recall, is that East Germany built their wall to keep the poor bastards IN — not to fend off millions of West Germans fleeing to the economic paradise of the East.

Does he really think Americans are that stupid? Even after getting his Soviet ass handed to him in the ’80′s?
