Raising a pint to political correctness

Author: Ben & Jerry’s wins the “Politically Correct Flub of the Week” award for apologizing for naming an ice cream flavor “Black & Tan”. If this wasn’t so totally unbelievable, I normally would let it go, but:
Ice cream maker Ben & Jerry’s has apologized to America’s Irish population after naming a new flavour Black & Tan.
Ben & Jerry’s said the new flavour, available only in the United States, is based on an ale and stout drink of the same name.
But it is also the name given to a British force that operated during Ireland’s war of independence.
“Any reference on our part to the British Army unit was absolutely unintentional and no ill-will was ever intended,” said a Ben & Jerry’s spokesman. “Ben & Jerry’s was built on the philosophies of peace and love.”
No word on when B&J will apologize to America’s Orangemen population for insulting the memory of the brave boys who tried to keep the Empire together by apologizing to a rabble of terror-loving drunken Micks.
That was a joke, by the way.

Idiots. I was drinking a Black and Tan over the weekend. I have heard no uproar over that particular beverage. Ben and Jerry’s should have told them to pound sand.
That presumes that those Commie ‘tards had 50 mg of testosterone in the whole company. Tsk tsk.
Black and Tan. It’s one of my favorite drinks. Of course, I’m descended from Cromwell’s Roundheads, so of course that would be the case.
Why do these idiots (the PC crowd) have to bow and scrape to every perceived gaff?

Well, there is the story about a friend of mine who ordered a “Black and Tan” in an Irish pub. The bartender, being a Catholic Northern Irelander, hoped over the bar and started pummeling him.
