… along comes yet another dipstick to cast doubt on the issue. I’ve posted articles recently about idiots calling the police because their dope got stolen, a guy who mailed pot to someone and put a return address on the package, you know the kind of thing. I figured they were isolated cases of idiocy, not necessarily caused by the weed.

Today’s wire has a lovely story of someone so brain-damaged on so many levels that I think she may actually become the Poster Dope for Marijuana:

A 25-year-old woman in Lake County, Fla., was charged with aggravated child abuse for allegedly smoking marijuana near her 11-day-old baby before the girl was rushed to a hospital with serious breathing problems, according to Local 6 News.

A 911 call apparently made by Antondra Sims led police to her Leesburg home Tuesday. When officers entered the home, they found a screaming baby and a room full of smoke, Local 6 News reported.

“I think my baby is choking,” Sims was heard saying on a 911 call. “She doesn’t look like she is breathing well.”

Sims’ 11-day-old baby was rushed to Arnold Palmer Hospital with life-threatening breathing problems, the report said. The child has recovered.The woman was later charged with smoking marijuana around her daughter.

The room was full of smoke, a screaming baby, and Sims. She goes on to say

“I just want to say that I don’t think that it is fair that I have had to sit in jail for these charges during the last couple of days without a bond,” Sims said. “I just feel I have been really inconvenienced for something I didn’t do.”
